Elwood

This post is for one of my greatest friends, who happened to throw her back out, and as a result is spending more time on her computer than she usually would. Looking for things to keep herself occupied, she's reading my blog. Yip-ee! Readers!

I never wanted cats. But thanks to Elwood, I am officially a "cat lady"! You see, it's his fault because I went with Heather when she went to get him. The Detroit Humane Society is where I fell hard and fell fast for my dear Oden. He choose me that day, and he is definitely one of the greatest things that ever happened to me! So Heather these are for you. We will have a real shoot for him soon, I promise! I hope you feel better soon! But even when you do I hope you keep reading my blog! :)

He of course wanted to know what was in the lens, which made him too close to focus on.
Still cute though!

Amazing Job

It's unbelievable the job that firefighters have. Last night at the corner of our block, a house caught on fire and ended up burning to the ground. The fire was so big and the embers were flying so much, there were a few moments when we thought we were going to have to pack up the monsters and leave the house. Although it is completely devastating that the family lost their house, they all made it out safely, Thank God.

So please, everyone, I know we're freezing, but make sure you turn off and unplug things like space heaters!

I don't have many of the fire up close, the family came back and didn't want to
make a spectacle of myself.

They also used the hydrant at the opposite end of our block.

The hose went all the way down the middle of the street.

These are from my back yard.

The Path
I actually picked this photo to post before I started writing the post. When I was done writing and looked at it again, I realized it is perfect for what I had to say. I love this photo, I have since i first took it. (It's actually more than one photo stitched together.) The path under the trees looks to me like such a exciting, interesting, and scary place all at the same time.

(This one is a good one to click on a view full screen.)
I am going to try and post on a regular basis. Eventually, I will have my own photography business. This is a way for me to document how and what happens, while sharing some of my work and experiences along the way. The idea of working for myself and taking pictures is so exciting to me that I often cannot fall asleep at night. That's okay though, it's fun to not be able to fall asleep when it's because you are thinking of something so exciting!

a little OCD

Not only did I stay up until 2am last night messing with this blog and another blog on wordpress, it's 1am right now and I've been at it again, forever! Is it possible to have selective OCD? I know that you are going to look at this blog and think, "Huh?" I know, I know, what could have taken me so long? OCD + so many options= hours and hours! On top of the OCD, I actually find it kinda fun to try and figure out the HTML. Maybe I shouldn't be admitting that! Anyway, I am going to try and leave this alone for a bit...but I make no promises. Everything could always be better...

The point of this blog is to be to be able to post more photo's more quickly. It is me so, I'm going to guess that posts may be drawn out and a lil personal sometimes. If it bores you, skip it! For the few of you who do read this (Uncle Gary, Mom, & Barb), "Thank You!" I promise to try to keep it interesting!

This is Braylin saying "ooohh so exciting!"

is it time to move?

So far I have been blogging using iweb. So far I have not been blogging very much. It just isn't very convenient. Every time I want to post a new post, I have to republish my whole site, and it takes quite awhile. I also don't like the way it posts photos or how it displays the posts. I am going to try this for a while and see if I like it better.

If it doesn't work, this may be the look on my face!
Oden doesn't exactly love the camera!

Adieu

My good friend Ryan White and some of his friends did a recording session at a church on Gratiot. (Thanks to some other great guys they know) They asked me to take some pics for them, and because of my great love for Ryan and picture taking I gladly obliged!

Here's one from that day, more to follow in a later post!

(This post is from the old blog, the others were too big to move over, so I am leaving them where they are for now)
