Goofy Family Portraits

Dave is always great at calling me out in his comments!  (I'm just glad he's commenting!)  He pointing out that it has been 26 days since my last post.  26 days!  That's horrible!  Life has been crazy busy lately, but that is still unacceptable!  So this is a quick post, some pics that I didn't edit much just some exposure correction and noise reduction, but they are still fun! :)  At the beginning of this winter we went to the cider mill with my sister and her husband and our dogs. Sanjay, my brother-in-law, was kind enough to take some "family" portraits for us (they're not complete family portrait because the kitties were missing). Sanjay's never used my camera before so when I didn't change the setting to program he didn't know it and the pics were all underexposed, but luckily, I was able to lighten some of them up enough, cause I think they're really fun.

So here we are, goofy and proud...

uh, yeah, not really sure what I was doing here...

What are we looking at?

This one would make a great Christmas card if only Lucy hadn't fallen asleep with waiting for this all to be over!

I don't remember what was going on here, but I'm gonna guess it was hard for me to get up from squatting.  Yeah, I am getting that old!

Thanks Sanjay for taking these, too fun!  I will be posting more pics from our cider mill trip eventually, I promise!

Whatta you doin to my mama!?

As you can see, my internet/computer programs are fixed!  Yip-ee!!!!  All this time, it was just my wireless router gone bad.  Now I have a pretty new Apple router...I love Apple, I really do.  I'm a late convert, but love it is!  I'm in the process of editing Heather and Chris's wedding photo's and every time I came across this photo I would chuckle to myself.  I felt this picture deserved it's own non-wedding related post.  So here is Elwood, wondering why someone is pulling on his mama!

The Greatest Show on Earth!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever loved a band, listened to their album obsessively, and then when you see them live, you say to yourself, "What is this crap?".  I have.  A lot of bands don't sound as good live as they do on their albums.  That is in NO WAY the case with My Morning Jacket.   Who woulda ever thunk it...but could they possibly sound even better live?!  Oh yeah baby, they do!  If you don't believe me ask my sister Heidi.  She really dislikes going and seeing live music (yeah, she's crazy, but that's another post).  She came with us to the show because she does like MMJ, and we were all going so she didn't want to be left out.  Heidi smiled, the WHOLE time.  It was awesome!  During the show she could be heard saying things like "I actually like hearing all the songs, even the one's I don't know" and "I can't believe how awesome his voice is!" and the best one "I love his voice so much, I want to make out with him even though I don't think that he is probably that cute!". (Sorry Michael, I'm sure she wouldn't REALLY make out with him.)   If you have not yet heard My Morning Jacket, please, go now, check them out...they rock!  And if you decide you like them, please go see them live, please, you will not regret it.   Here's some pics that I took when we went to see them at The Filmore.  I grabbed Heidi and we pushed our way up to the front.  I haven't done that in many, many years.  I'm at the age where I'm just as happy to stand back, somewhere in the center, where the sound it the best.  That's old age for you, good sound over the excitement of trying to touch the lead singer, oh well.  We did get close this time.

Here's the pics (correction: 1 picture) straight from the iPhone, no editing...

Luckily (see below) this one was my favorite anyway

Here's a link to My Morning Jacket's website

*Side note #1:  Tim brought home an acoustic CD by Jim James (lead singer of MMJ) and just when I thought I couldn't love them anymore, OMG!  I'm one of those annoying people who can listen to the same CD over and over and over again when I get really hooked.  This is one of those CD's.

***Side note #2 is a plea for help!:  I have been trying to post this since Tuesday!  I feel like I am losing my mind!  Something is up with my blog and the administrative pages are loading SOO slow, they're basically not loading.  This post had a bunch of pics I was going to include, but I can't get them on here.  This is soo frustrating!  If anyone has any suggestions, please, please, help me out.

Here's what I've tried:

I've looked through all my folders and can't find anything unusual .

I've tried turning off each of my plugins, didn't change anything.

I've installed a Security plugin that looks for things wrong, no luck there either.

Everyday? We'll see...

My dear friend Coco, left me a very amusing voicemail yesterday expressing his exasperation when he comes to my blog and there is not a new post.  I have been instructed that I MUST post at least one photo every day.  Believe me, I love blogging my work, so that would be ideal.  The days just get away from me sometimes and I don't get to the blogging part of my day.  I "try" not to use the word "try".  I heard the saying somewhere once that "trying is failing with dignity, you will either do something or you don't".  Well I really liked that saying and have used it since, however... as far as blogging everyday goes... I don't want to say I will try...  I will however PROMISE to post more often, sorry Coco, that's all I've got for now. I'm getting ready for a wedding this afternoon and am doing some quick editing of Heather and Chris's wedding in the mean time.  Here's a shot from the day before the wedding when every one was setting up.

This one's for you Fathead!  I love you!

If you don't know us, that crazy man above is Tommy, my dear friend I spoke of above.  Yes, he really is that crazy, crazier probably.  A little background about the nicknames, Tommy used to try and make us call him T-Bone, not because of, but just like George on Seinfeld.  If you are a Seinfeld fan you know that that backfired on George and they started calling him Coco after Coco the Monkey.  I, of course, had to make sure it backfired on Tommy also, and I started calling him Coco.  Somehow it has turned into Coco Chanel sometimes and that's why I spell it C-O-C-O.   As far as Fathead goes, I don't even remember how it started.  I just know that one time all of us girls made shirts that said I love Fathead on them and surprised Tommy by wearing them to a huge party we were having, he loved it of course!  If anyone can remember, send me a comment and tell me why.

Sophie

My sister Lauri and her husband Sanjay got a puppy.  A chihuahua puppy. A tiny little black and white chihuahua puppy.  Her name is Sophie and she is soo very cute!  Her back legs are somehow faster than her front legs and when she runs the back of her body catches up to the front of her body and she trips all over herself.  It's adorable.  I've read before that puppies are hard to take photo's of because they are too fast and running around, boy did I not realize how true that was until today.  For ever photo I have in focus I probably have seven that aren't.

As you can see from the first photo, even out of focus puppies are cute!

I'm not exactly sure why, but this one is my favorite.  I love the way she's so tiny and walking away, so independant...

Not long after I got there she had run into herself more than she could stand anymore and in no time, she was sleeping on my lap.
